The wall of the temple reminisce you pictures of the immense Wall of China. The temple of Garh Ganesha is located on the hills of forts of Nahargarh and Jaigarh. It is the only temple which has the idol of Lord Ganesha in human form. All the other temples of Lord Ganesha have the idol with the head of an elephant. Hence this temple holds special positions among the devotees of the country. Lot of legends are associated with the temple. The temple is an interesting place for spiritual people and is easy to visit as the temple is mostly open so the devotees can easily worship the god here in the temple premises without any haste.

You will get much needed peace of mind in this heavenly abode. The temple was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during the ritual of Ashwamedha Yagya before laying the foundation of Jaipur city. It is said that after the ritual was performed, he kept the foundation stone of Jaipur. The statue of Lord Ganesha is placed in such a way that Maharaja could view it with binoculars from Chandra Mahal of City Palace of Jaipur.
A fair is organized at the venue on the Ganesh Chaturthi of Bhadrapad Shukla Paksha for five days duration. On the first Wednesday after the festival of Deepavali, “Anna Koot” is celebrated at the temple and on the last Wednesday, the month of Posh is celebrated.
How to Reach
The Garh Ganesha temple is open from morning 7 am to 12 pm noon and evening 4 pm to 9 pm. To reach this temple is also easy as it is close to the capital city Jaipur. If one is at the Jaipur city, one can move there with the help of an auto or a taxi. In the case of a visitor from out of the city, one can reach the Garh Ganesh temple by all three modes of transport rail, road or airways.
The temple is located near Brahmpuri, Jaipur and is in the suburbs of the city on the Gaitor road. The distance of the temple from Jaipur railway station is 7kms. One can easily get a taxi or a bus from the Jaipur railway station itself. One can reach Jaipur railway station from many metropolitan cities like Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, etc. Also, domestic flights are available from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and other big cities. Being one of the major tourist destinations the temple witness lot of devotees every day which include foreign tourists in a large number. Many International flight operators have direct flights to Sanganer airport, Jaipur.
