The grand entrance down the road is known as Tillon pol which was constructed in 19th century by the noble paramour named Tillon. Lord Vishu statue installed later is regarded as the savior Lord Krishna. There are few shops at the entrance which keeps Rajasthan handmade crafts.
You can enjoy number of activities here, feed the catfish in lake, enjoy hearty boat ride or shop souvenirs. In winters, a variety of migratory birds dock down the lake area. One must keep binoculars and camera ready to capture activities of birds. Kids will especially enjoy bird watching and boating.

The Golden city is about 575 kilometres from state capital, Jaipur and 300 km from Jodhpur. It is directly connected via train and bus while the nearest airport is in Jodhpur.

The foremost destination near Jaisalmer is Ramdevra village which is known for a saint, Baba Ramdevji. Ramdevji is worshipped by many social sects. The 3162 km² spread of the Desert National Park display huge variety of flora and fauna. The birdlife you see here would amaze you. Lot of migratory birds, partridges, blackbuck, desert fox, desert cat, and wolf etc. are common sight. It is also known for million years old fossils of animals and plants residing in Jurassic rocks. About 20% of the park is covered by sand dunes.
