It is cooked in combination of five green herbs and vegetables which are used fresh in season or otherwise are dried and preserved to use during the year. These herbs and vegetables are mixed with the sautéed onion, ginger, garlic paste followed by spices and curd, making it a very yummy and healthy creamy delicacy; you will certainly fall in love with.
DAAL BAATI is the most wanted wholesome meal, highly in demand by the majority of the tourists in Mewar. This preparation is made from black lentils cooked on a lower flame for hours, till it gets creamier and smoother and mixed with garlic, ginger, onions and tomatoes enhanced with few dry spices, served with lots of ghee and wheat flour balls roasted in charcoal till crispy.
Apart from the main courses that are nutritional and tasty, Tourists also fancy for some of the very popular snacks available in almost all corners of the State are Daal ki Kachori, Samosa, Mirchi Bada and Palak ke pakode, to name few.
Apart from spicy cuisine Mewar has to offer in its treasure, some of the greatest recipes in desserts.
DAAL KA HALWA is made from yellow lentils, rich in proteins. Soaked and crushed lentils are stir fried in ghee and sugar. Cardamoms and saffron certainly add the richness to the dish.
